By The Whole ClassDo you like to read biographies about missionaries to India who make a lasting difference in people's lives? Then With Daring Faith: A Biography of Amy Carmichael by Rebecca Davis is a great book for you.First, the book was very interesting. Amy was rather mischievous, leading her two brothers Earnest and Alfred on many crazy journeys. On one adventure, they tried to eat as many poisonous berries as they could. Did they die? You'll have to read the book to find out.Second, the book described many answers to prayer. Amy needed 100 British Pounds to build a children's hospital and a boy back in England gave up his Christmas presents for this cause. Another time, Amy prayed that Red Tiger, an Indian type of Robin Hood who stole from the rich to give to the poor, would die without weapons in his hand. Did this happen? You have to read the book.We recommend that people of all ages read this Christian book, especially those who like missionaries who help people in need. You will be amazed at and challenged by Amy's courage.
My fourth grade class reads this book every year, and every year I get excited teaching it! A few of my students struggle with the level. That's why we go over it together. The book is actually part of our Bible curriculum. It is a GREAT story of perseverance, faith, and love. It is wonderfully written to capture the struggle and victory of this amazing woman, her mission, and a testimony of her life and dedication. After reading the book, my students run to the library to find every book they can on Amy Carmichael. I highly recommend this book for anyone! If someone can't read it, read it to them!
