 This is my first coloring book of mandala designs by Jade Summer. The artists that illustrate the books under this name are a wide variety from human forms to more geometric designs, such as this book of mandalas. I cannot tell if a single artist is responsible for the designs in this book but a number of them seem to be done in similar styles.The mandalas are in circular style format. There are geometric designs with straight lines, curving designs with elegant flowing lines and designs which include animals and insects as the main focal point. It is a really nice mix for those who love to color mandalas. I have a few mandala books in my collection and am really pleased to have purchased this one as it provides so much variety in one coloring book.The skill level for coloring these designs is a wide variety with some designs being detailed and others open and easy to color. None of them would be what I call intricate and difficult to color.While you can have access to .PDFs when you purchase this book, my review is based on the book as it is received from Amazon. That way you will know what the pages look like and how they accept color. I like that the publisher provides the digital version as well so you can choose the paper you wish to use and/or to color the pictures as many times as you choose.This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium:100 Different Mandala designs in circular formatPaper is typical of CreateSpace: white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforated. The back of the page is printed black.The designs do not merge into the binding.Glue Binding (there is room to cut the pages out if you choose to do so.)Though you cannot see the bleed-through easily due to the back of the page being printed in black, I recommend the use of a blotter page when working in this book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below.Alcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly.Water-based markers bleed through in spots.Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats.Coloring Pencils work well with this paper. I found that I could layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and I could blend easily using a blending stick. I tested both oil and wax based pencils. I also found that hard lead pencils leave dents through the paper.

Probably one of my most favorite mandala books. I love to color mandalas, but unfortunately it's very hard to find books with more than just a couple of good ones. Look no more!!! This mandala book has it all. If you just want so something light and easy, to just sit down for a short time and color....... this book has it. If you are in the mood to c color something very intricate and time consuming.... this book has it, and everything in between! There is no shortage of wonderful templates to choose from to suit your every need. On the other hand, this book is the perfect book for anyone from a beginning colorist, to the most advanced. There are very few books that I honestly could say that about..... but this book fills the bill for every need that I can think of.All of that being said, let's get down to the specifics. This book has 100 unique Mandalas printed on a single side. The back of the page is black to help prevent bleed through of some mediums like markers (I would strongly suggest that if you plan to use markers that you always use a blotter page behind the page that you are coloring). The paper in this book is the typical create space paper that is relatively poor. For best results I would strongly suggest that regardless of the medium you intend to use that you copy your page to 110# cardstock.All in all, I must say that this is a fabulous book. No matter your skill level, this is the book for you.

This book was bigger then I expected it to be and I like the designs inside. The big thing for me was that the pages are not perforated, it may seem silly but this is a big thing for me as I tare out the pages and then color them and often put them into a binder.

I love this book. Especially that it has 100 designs and the backs of pages are blacked out to prevent mark through. Although, I find it doesn't work all that well with my gel pens and markers so I still put a blank piece of paper between.The only thing I would say is I wish it ad more detail style. I would definitely refer Jade Summer to any coloring enthusiast.

I LOVE IT!!!! I have ordered many adult coloring books over the past few years, but this one is different, it is blacked out on the back of each page, so if you use fine tip marker or a pen that seeps through it will not be on the next design. Also it doesn't have ridiculously tiny patterns within the design that you can barely see, never-mind try to color. The designs are beautifully crafted and interesting. I am actually going to finish this review and order another one to keep for crafting.

I watched a PBS special featuring the Amen's and ordered this book soon afterward. I found it slower going than most books of it's type. Too many anecdotes and too little actual substance for the total pages. My main problem came after reading over most of the book and getting to the point where I was ready to start the "14 Day Brain Boost." I printed out the 42 page journal and prepared to start gathering my go-to recipes, relaxation scripts, and examples of exercise routines to use during my 14 day start-up, which were supposedly easy to access through links provided in the book. A good variety of recipes and ways to use the allowed foods is important to me since I have food allergies and problems with losing too much weight. So, I used the previously mentioned links from the books but, after a free evaluation 'Brain Type' test, I was inundated with ads for more Amen products to buy. Supplements. Foods. Courses. Books. Audios.After 1/2 hour of digging for the information I wanted on the book's provided links, I finally found a total of 12 recipes that could be accessed without a fee. I had planned on buying their cookbook until I saw that several of the 12 recipes online included Amens' branded ingredients, sold on their website. I took the cookbook from my cart and decided to spend the effort finding recipes which met the guidelines of gluten-free, diary-free and low sugar on my own.I had less success finding any specific relaxation aids or the guided full sensory relaxation audios mentioned in the book. I'll just reread the book's section on relaxation techniques from the book and make my own sessions.The majority of the information within the Brain Warrior's Way is good. The Amen's talk of being "sheepdogs" who's life purpose is to teach others to help those around them felt hollow after viewing their sales techniques. Perhaps I am merely being overly critical of their aggressive marketing.

I THANK Dr. Amen for his research and his advice on improving our health. However, he has gone tooooo commercial. 4 emails a day. And too heavy handed advertising.

I feel like I'm reading much of the same information from earlier books, stated a different way. Also concerned about recommendations for some of the supplements which have been shown to be ineffective.I love his previous books and consider them an excellent investment for your health; if you haven't read them, then, Dr. Amen's new book is worth the time.

This book was really disappointing. I have read all the other books by Dr. Amen and this one was just boring. Very little new information.I feel he does a better job when he writes a book by himself. We really don't care about his wife's personal experiences.. I would rather have science.

I do not know one person who wouldn't benefit from reading this. So many things I have learned from this book that I highly recommend that you either write notes in the front of the book or create a note on your phone. Tana Amen talks about victimization of yourself and how to transform your brain from a victim into warrior. (She actually has me considering martial arts). Other great tips; make a list of brain healthy restaurants, make brain health a game with your kids, make 1 decision not 30, warriors don't take December off, everything in moderation is ruining your health, brain is 80 percent water=hydration is imperative, watching news=negative impact, p144-147 has the best brain tips, avoid corn at all costs. I could go on and on. Read it and buy copies for everyone you love.

Anecdotal and you really have to pick through the mess to get to any meat in it. Definitely look elsewhere, this series seems very sales pitchy and a waste of your time.

I love this book because it teaches you a different way to think. It's not all sciency but enough to support the reasoning. I bought this and the cookbook and I'm very glad I did. I'm looking at my choices (both food and exercise) differently and I'm only 25% of the way through. I'm learning to be a warrior for my brain and body and looking at 'deprivation' in a whole new way. Thank you!

A very motivating book, when you consider that it vividly presents the damage we are doing to our brains by mismanaging our diets, and looking the other way. Very compelling in giving reasons not to allow this negative pattern too continue.

I reviewed this book in paperback and immediately bought it when it became available for the Kindle Fire. Judaism is the root of Christianity. Understanding Judaism is fundamental to understanding how Hashem relates to the world. We may differ on the Messiah, but whether he returns or comes for the first time, he will be a Jewish male, seeing the world and responding to it from a Jewish perspective. Jews are highly respected for their persistent, consistent, deliberate passing down of their history and Jewish experience. It's what binds them together like no other people in all of history. For them to sense it may be lost in the current generation is a major warning. This book, remarkably, lays out why being Jewish and passing it on is crucial to history, theirs and the world's. Their influence is central if you are a person of faith. A Letter in the Scroll lays out insights that you do not want to miss.

Anything that Rabbi Lord Sacks writes, I read. He is the ultimate intellectual, philosopher and religious leader of our era.

I work with Jewish students on campus and this is my go to starting point for any student wanting to delve deeper into their Jewish identity (regardless of upbringing). I have yet to find a better written or thought out response to "Why be Jewish?"

Introduction The success of a hockey team, whether it is measured in individual skill improvement, winning, or fun, is directly dependent on practice. The better the practice, the better the team. What goes into a practice, how a practice is conducted and what is accomplished during a practice is critical. In this sense, the drills that a practice is comprised of are essential to the development of the team. This book presents 200 drills in eight different chapters: skating, stickhandling, passing, shooting, conditioning, goaltending, checking and situations. The book presents a comprehensive selection of drills for the different stages of development. The book is meant to serve all coaches, either as a readily available on-ice drill reminder, or as reference for new and different drills. Each drill features: a full-color diagram, a purpose, a brief description, the number of participating players and the tempo of the drill's execution. All of this information is clearly displayed for quick reference. Many of the drills have variations listed as well. No drill is too simple to be used. Drills are where the fundamental skills of the game are taught. All teams should constantly practice fundamentals and as a team develops its skills, the drills provided can be made more complex. Teams should, at some time, begin to use drills that combine multiple skills in one exercise. The most important thing for the coach to consider when selecting a drill is that the drill should be fun: substantial, worthwhile and enjoyable. Good drills make coaching and playing a good experience.

My nephew recently got into hockey and wanted to learn how to play. I knew the game and rules but didn't know how to help him develop as a player. I got this book and so far I've teaching him conditioning and some team building exercises that has developed his overall game. This book is a coach's guidebook because he is learning both offensive and defensive strategies and executing them well. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to either coach or just learn the game in general.

Hockey Drill Book. The title says it all. The book is laid out very well. It opens with warm up and skating drills. Then the book moves to stick handling to passing to shooting. It continues with conditioning, goaltending, checking, situations and finishes with practice.The nice part about the book is that each drill has an illustration with a description of how to perform it. Each drill also contains an explanation of the purpose, tempo and who can participate. Another nice feature is the variations section, which offers an idea of a different approach to the drill.This is a great book for beginning coaches as well as more seasoned coaches looking for something different. This book will help your confidence as a coach and help your team move to the next level.

What you should consider: Do I want usable information to persue development or do I want a picture book? This book has been the fundamental basis for glaze development since its publication with only small variations in 9 printings, the most recent was a section added on crystaline glazes. This book is NOT a picture book. This book is NOT a recipe book. It is a starting place that carefully analyses every aspect you can encounter in glaze development at the fundamental level. If you want a picture slash recipe slash development book look at robin hoppers book. Its the only one that I've found to contain useful information and pretty pictures albeit the pictures overwhelm the majority or the book and the information underwhelms. I would state this as the book for beginners to begin understanding akin to the introduction to college chemistry. It establishes limits of glazes basic components and development methods. However be aware that most of the firing information is at cone 10. If you fire at cone 6 like so many of us you will have to adapt further research into your development.

If you are a potter, and are interested in the "why" of things, you need to read this book. It contains many scientific answers to those "why" questions, and provides some formulas for "how" to make your own glazes that perform in a consistent manner. It is easy to throw ingredients together and hope for the best. Just received the book and was a bit disappointed. Did not realize it was republished. Some of the pages look as though they have been copied from another book as there is copied underlining on the pages. There is no information on which edition this book is or if the information has been updated since its first publication. I am using this book for a Glaze Formulation class and it was recommended. Will see if it is informative enough for me as the class goes on.

Very detailed info. I bought it to think through some shenanigans in my Elementary Art Room. Completely answered my questions and let me in on some other ideas to get around some restrictions in a safe manner.

The book content is great, but the edition itself is awful.Seems to be a photocopy , with underlined text (made by hand, some times over the words) and hand written side notes all over.Not worth it! Not worth choosing the cheapest in this case.

Perfect book for beginners as well as teachers. Clearly written how-to instructions accompany photos of finished products. This is a book I bought over a year ago and I still refer back to it for inspiration and instruction.

Seemed like an unofficial copy. The print quality is terrible and it's almost impossible to read and understand the photos. I would like to return this, but cannot find a way.

The contents written by Daniel Rhodes is fantastic but the print quality of this book is pathetic.
