I really like the illustrated atlas of British history and hoped for something like that as a reference, with more maps. This is OK but I'm not thrilled about it.

This is a huge book. It has a lot of great American history and this was expected because it's National Geographic.

Quite a good book.

A must book for all libraries. So much of the important events and dates are buried in past editions that most students will never see nor read in a lifetime. Under today's education priorities, you may never hear of the event moreorless read about it..It is well organized and written. Grade school children can use it as quick reference and more mature readers can thumb through the pages and simply relive history. Lots of great photographs and interesting stories. History can actually come alive once again at the touch of a finger. Read it and enjoy and your own leisure. REW

National Geographic seems to place some thought into the references they create; this edition of American history was no exception.The pages are well-organized, easy to read and full of side-bar facts, commentaries and anecdotes that are easy to remember. The pages are also very engaging and entertain even my young child!Overall: A+ --> a very good investment for our home library.We also purchased, the American Time Line: National Geographic Concise History of the World: An Illustrated Time Line (Timeline)

A well organized format starts as a general overview of progressive periods, and follows up with a more specific description of each era. Every section features maps or art representative of the period. All in all, this book displays the excellence we have come to expect of National Geographic.

Very informative, but a LOT of typo's. I would expect better out of a book bearing the "National Geographic" name.

We bought this book when I realized how much my 7-month-old loved his other finger puppet books. It's a little bit of a pain to pull the antlers back through the cover at the end but worth it. In addition to this one we'd bought 2 other finger puppet books to add to our collection and this story is by far the best. I also like that the moose is a unique animal that isn't often featured in kids' stuff. I've found that the finger puppet books help keep our son engaged in his bedtime reading when he's a little more tired or just doesn't have the patience for board books.

Small little book with a fabric moose that you can stick you finger in for interaction. Too difficult for a small child, but works for an adult playing puppeteer. Moose fabric gets a little stuck between pages, but my grandson enjoys having it read to him.

It takes a bit to get the little moose antlers back through the pages when you are done reading. Be sure to have an adult turn the pages or a child may rip the poor moose's antlers off.

This is a wonderful board book with a cute finger puppet as part of the book. It is durable and a very good price from this seller.

I bought this book for my son and my daughter has kidnapped it. She now keeps it in her room and wants it read often. We love the finger puppet books! They are fun and easy to read.

It's ok the idea is cute and the book is cute but the puppet doesn't stick out of the front of the book far enough, so you can't see his face very well on the first couple of pages.

It’s as expected just a lot smaller than I thought ... the height is is about 3 quarters of a dollar bill

Very cute book. It’s a tight fit to get the ears, antlers and head through the hole but on e you do, very cute.
