Introduction The success of a hockey team, whether it is measured in individual skill improvement, winning, or fun, is directly dependent on practice. The better the practice, the better the team. What goes into a practice, how a practice is conducted and what is accomplished during a practice is critical. In this sense, the drills that a practice is comprised of are essential to the development of the team. This book presents 200 drills in eight different chapters: skating, stickhandling, passing, shooting, conditioning, goaltending, checking and situations. The book presents a comprehensive selection of drills for the different stages of development. The book is meant to serve all coaches, either as a readily available on-ice drill reminder, or as reference for new and different drills. Each drill features: a full-color diagram, a purpose, a brief description, the number of participating players and the tempo of the drill's execution. All of this information is clearly displayed for quick reference. Many of the drills have variations listed as well. No drill is too simple to be used. Drills are where the fundamental skills of the game are taught. All teams should constantly practice fundamentals and as a team develops its skills, the drills provided can be made more complex. Teams should, at some time, begin to use drills that combine multiple skills in one exercise. The most important thing for the coach to consider when selecting a drill is that the drill should be fun: substantial, worthwhile and enjoyable. My nephew recently got into hockey and wanted to learn how to play. I knew the game and rules but didn't know how to help him develop as a player. I got this book and so far I've teaching him conditioning and some team building exercises that has developed his overall game. This book is a coach's guidebook because he is learning both offensive and defensive strategies and executing them well. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to either coach or just learn the game in general.

The book I bought was suppose to be new. It was actually a withdrawn library book. Strange.

Hockey Drill Book. The title says it all. The book is laid out very well. It opens with warm up and skating drills. Then the book moves to stick handling to passing to shooting. It continues with conditioning, goaltending, checking, situations and finishes with practice.The nice part about the book is that each drill has an illustration with a description of how to perform it. Each drill also contains an explanation of the purpose, tempo and who can participate. Another nice feature is the variations section, which offers an idea of a different approach to the drill.This is a great book for beginning coaches as well as more seasoned coaches looking for something different. This book will help your confidence as a coach and help your team move to the next level.

What you should consider: Do I want usable information to persue development or do I want a picture book? This book has been the fundamental basis for glaze development since its publication with only small variations in 9 printings, the most recent was a section added on crystaline glazes. This book is NOT a picture book. This book is NOT a recipe book. It is a starting place that carefully analyses every aspect you can encounter in glaze development at the fundamental level. If you want a picture slash recipe slash development book look at robin hoppers book. Its the only one that I've found to contain useful information and pretty pictures albeit the pictures overwhelm the majority or the book and the information underwhelms. I would state this as the book for beginners to begin understanding akin to the introduction to college chemistry. It establishes limits of glazes basic components and development methods. However be aware that most of the firing information is at cone 10. If you fire at cone 6 like so many of us you will have to adapt further research into your development.

If you are a potter, and are interested in the "why" of things, you need to read this book. It contains many scientific answers to those "why" questions, and provides some formulas for "how" to make your own glazes that perform in a consistent manner. It is easy to throw ingredients together and hope for the best. But it is through scientific formulation and dedicated testing that a potter can make some glazes that perform as expected time after time. The book also provides some trouble shooting if your glazes underperform. This is your reference for all things scientific in clay and glaze formulation.

Just received the book and was a bit disappointed. Did not realize it was republished. Some of the pages look as though they have been copied from another book as there is copied underlining on the pages. There is no information on which edition this book is or if the information has been updated since its first publication. I am using this book for a Glaze Formulation class and it was recommended. Will see if it is informative enough for me as the class goes on.

Very detailed info. I bought it to think through some shenanigans in my Elementary Art Room. Completely answered my questions and let me in on some other ideas to get around some restrictions in a safe manner.

The book content is great, but the edition itself is awful.Seems to be a photocopy , with underlined text (made by hand, some times over the words) and hand written side notes all over.Not worth it! Not worth choosing the cheapest in this case.

Perfect book for beginners as well as teachers. Clearly written how-to instructions accompany photos of finished products. This is a book I bought over a year ago and I still refer back to it for inspiration and instruction.

Seemed like an unofficial copy. The print quality is terrible and it's almost impossible to read and understand the photos. I would like to return this, but cannot find a way.

The contents written by Daniel Rhodes is fantastic but the print quality of this book is pathetic.

This is a favorite book for my 18 month old. There are so many details to find on each page, and some of the pages even include simple activities - count the legs on the spider, wiggle like a worm, point to the spots on the ladybug, trace the caterpillar's branch with your finger. We have 3 books in this series, and would recommend all 3 - we also have Birds and Weather.

I'd give the book 5 stars if the author hadn't wrongly asserted that ladybugs munch leaves. I get they were going for alliteration, but it doesn't seem right to include wrong information.

Jill McDonald is quickly becoming my 2 year old's favorite author. We have most of her books, and one of them goes everywhere with my son at all times. Her writing is simple enough to introduce children to major topics in science, but it also explains the topic in an accurate way. My son is 2 and has the entire solar system memorized thanks to these books! We are working on memorize the bugs now!

For the most part this book is good and my kid likes it. Why 3 stars? Apparently the authors don't know that Ladybugs eat aphids, not leaves. I guess they couldn't be bothered to do a basic google search on the roughly 10 bugs they featured.

My 2 year old son LOVES all of the books by this author, but this book especially sparked an interest for him in all sorts of bugs (which was nice timing with summer and seeing so many bugs in our own backyard). It has some cute interactive pieces in it and, as usual, the illustrations are wonderful. He asks to read this book and others by this author (Dinosaurs and Solar System in particular) every day. I like that each page includes "fun facts" for each of the bugs so he can learn more about all of the creepy crawlers he sees outside. I would highly recommend this book and others by Jill McDonald.

Jill McDonald books are some of my favorites for little ones. The illustrations are perfect and there is a perfect amount of info on each page, imo, to keep a toddler interested.

This book is my 10 month old's current favorite! He loves pointing out all the bugs and I like that it has little facts about the bugs on each page.

I clearly ordered Biology Lab Manual by Vodopich 9th Edition; when I opened the package last year it was 7th edition. I was not able to return it since I badly needed the book. Because its the same publisher & author, only a couple of sentences and pictures are missing. All in all, I was pretty upset. Thank God my professor is nice enough to let it slip. But I sure hope they would send me a replacement. It doesn't feel good buying one thing and receiving a different one.

I didn't realize when I bought this lab manual that it was the custom edition... I didn't see it anywhere in the description, and by the time my class got to one of the labs left out it was too late to replace.The manual is in pretty good condition, though there were a couple of labs filled out in pen. The edges of the pages are worn as is to be expected for a used book. Unfortunately, it wasn't the version I expected.

Pretty good lab book. As I haven't needed a book for any other lab I have done, I don't have anything else to compare it to. However, it does a good job, could be better, of explaining what is going on in the experiments. That, and I had to have it for school. I often wonder, if it wasn't for school, how much of these books would really be sold?

Book is right but came with water damage on the pages -- I have to make scanned copies of the pages, so that's not ideal for a scanner. It is hella cheaper to rent this older edition, than it is to buy the new one or this edition of the manual.

You can only download this book too 2 devices. Both Devices I've attempted to download it too is not compatible. I do not recommend using the Kindle Version of this book.

The book is not in very good condition at all. The front cover is on the verge of falling off and it's very worn down. Unfortunately I won't be able to use it for school and it's too late to reorder one so I'm using a friend's. Overall would not recommend. Thanks

This is a very informative book. This book convinced me that the Egyptians had it right! This was their medicine for everything: infections, burns, colds, etc. The only thing it (black cumin) could not cure was death. How to prepare black cumin for various ailments is also included in a recipe manner. This isn't just information but the how-to is also provided.

This is a very good book to have on hand when you begin to take the Black Cumin. It tells how much to take for some illnesses and gives recipes with other herbs and foods to be added along with it. I've been taking it for about 3 weeks and feel more energy and know the longer I take it the more my body will heal of any illness I have that I don't even know about. It says in the book that it "heals everything but death." It explains why in the book.

Anxiously waiting the delivery of the book !!! My husband enjoys the taste of the Amazing Black Cummin, so he consumes the oil. The children enjoy the seeds in eggs whith cheese (yummy) or in a salad we grind it up in a seed grinder. Worth a try we don't always know what can be going wrong with us. An ounce of prevention more vauluable than a pound of cure.

Adam’s writing captured me; his description of the many personal struggles that we all let affect our prayer life and/or the intimate relationship God desires with his creation - is spot on.Personally, God used this book to highlight the need “to become the kind of person who can see God in every distraction; the need to have a heart that yields to God as a King, instead of wanting to be it’s own king; and the need to simply be silent and provide God an opportunity to speak into my life.”

As a young kid I was always moved by the music of Keith Green. One song in particular that has always hung with me is “Make My Life a Prayer To You.” It seems like a monumental task, especially as an 11 year old boy and still to this day. After reading “This is How We Pray” I think I have a better grasp of making this a reality. Additionally, the author does well to tackle the big questions that all of us ask and relates them around prayer. Reading it will warm your spirit and be of great encouragement not only in you prayer life, but also in your faith.

An excellent book, beautifully written and edited. The author tells his own story, highly relatable to young parents. He speaks of the challenges of Christian living while raising small children and dealing with 21st century life. Better yet, Dressler slips in an introduction to many of the major Christian theologians and writers, from antiquity to the present (Augustine to C.S. Lewis to Anne Lamott).This would be a terrific book for people who are new-ish to Christianity - not exactly brand new but who are still learning the basics of Christian thought and practice. Excellent for post-confirmation small groups or young adults.
